If you loved Pulse then this is your new news reader

I was a dedicated Pulse user for years. Then...of course...they ruined it. I had to find a new news app. But they all sucked. Then I found Anews.

Almost perfect news aggregator

I got this after hunting desperately for a Pulse newsreader replacement. Sounds like Im one of many who have gravitated to this app. It seems pretty clear that people who left Pulse and switched to Anews are readers who want to see their news in a linear, visual feed. Like them, I dont want a digital newspaper layout duplicate. The image-driven thumbnail grid approach is truly the quickest, most delightful visual solution. After a few weeks of use, Ill say that Anews is growing on me. Very easy to customize to some degree (Id like more), reliable, seems to be well supported by developers. All important ingredients.

Satisfactory

Awesome pulse replacement

Great replacement for Pulse

Title says it all. I use this several times a day. Efficient, no-nonsense newsreader.

Pulse brother

Very nice news agregator with Pulse like layout. Unfortunately I cannot see the RSS feeds I added. Please fix this bug. thank you

Not quite a Pulse substitute (but getting there)

I downloaded Anews like so many others after Pulse was bought by LinkedIn and that app was ruined. Anews is virtually the only reader to allow scrollable rows of news feeds, which is the best thing about it. Unfortunately, its plagued by a few flaws... • You only get two stories per row, whereas Pulse had 5 or 6. Were not blind, Anews. You can make the text smaller. • The rows are too tall, limiting how many rows can be seen at a time (again, were not blind--and I want to be able to scan more at a time). • Theres limited ability to add feeds--many (like those from Gawker) dont show up right, with duplicate entries and old data. • Along with the above, custom feeds all get lumped into a single "RSS" folder--you cant move feeds into the folders in which they belong (I cant move Jalopnik into Autos, for instance). I really wanted to like Anews, but it has too many issues to be a true Pulse at this stage. Ill keep it installed and hope for updates. Until then, Ill get by with Feedly (unfortunately).

Linked-in screwed up Pulse

Screw you linked-in for ruining a perfectly good app. Thank you ANEWS for being similar to the old Pulse.

Perfect replacement for Pulse

So far Im loving it. Smooth as butter and nice presentation. Top notch app. I like it :)

Great News App

As a former Pulse News App user I was looking for a new feed reader and came across this app. It works great and while I was disappointed that Linkiden killed the Pulse App I am now thankful as this is a better app.

Def a pulse replacement but anyone notice a batter drain?

This app has since replaced pulse for me. My only concern is that its been draining my battery rather quickly. Ive checked the built in battery meter in settings and at the top of the list is anews. 1 hour on screen and 51% battery depleted in the last 24 hrs.? Using an iPhone 6s on iOS 9, I dont think this apps updated for either. Other then that it works just like advertised. Would highly recommend. Update and fix bug and Ill give 5 ⭐️s.

Almost replaces Pulse

First off, if you are a former Pulse user this is the closest replacement. Second if you are a former Pulse user alienated by LinkdIns butchering of Pulse take the time to go give the new Pulse app the negative feedback it deserves. Ive made it my mission to regularly rate the new Pulse app with a 1 star review each time they update it just to steer people to better apps like this one.

God replacement for Pulse

I picked this app to replace (the once good) Pulse new reader. Pile was ruined by LinkedIn takeover. This app could be a bit better if it included some missing tech news sites as well as ability to switch to full hamlet site view without the need to scold down to hit the article link. It gets to be annoying to have to scroll down.

A minus

Like many here, I was a former Pulse app user...it was a well designed, user friendly app until LinkedIn ruined it. A works well, its easy to negotiate...it would benefit from a wider net of sources. Film School Rejects?

Super app

I ve started to use it few months ago and i am So happy to have found it. Is Like Pulse used to be and i Hope it will never change.
